A prominent New Zealand commentator is due in court accused of defamatory statements related to TVNZ's controversial Kiwimeter.

Broad suppression orders prevent the publication of the commentator's identity, the publication they work for and the exact statements made.

The accused denies all the charges.

The High Court trial gets underway on Tuesday 19th April night at BATS Theatre and is set to last 1 week, with Justice Jody Ranzerson presiding.
